Firefly is a science fiction television series that premiered in the United States and Canada on September 20, 2002. The producer of this series is Joss Whedon, the creator of Buffy and Angel and Dollhouse. The story takes place in the year 2517, when a large population of humans migrated to a new system. The immigrants settled in tens of planets and hundreds of moons of this new world. The new system is ruled by the Alliance, a group of inner planets that managed to rule the entire planet under a single government. Captain Malcolm Reynolds and his henchman Zoey are soldiers from the Unity War, a failed war against the Alliance to take over the government.
