Felix Sherman (Seagal) works in a bookstore and likes to think of himself as a failed writer. He informs the caretaker of the apartment block where he lives, Rapzynski (Sandolescu), that one of the residents of the block is Doris (Streisand), a girl who uses his apartment as a house of infamy.
