Tokyo in 1888. Kikunosuke Onwa, the adopted son of a prominent actor, realizes that his acting career is praised by his father. The only person who speaks honestly about his acting is Otoko, the family nurse. She is fired and Kikonosuke is forbidden to see her because of rumors.
