The story of the series revolves around the life of Nancy Batvin, a widowed mother who is forced to sell marijuana (hashish) to support her family. Nancy's family consists of her two sons named Shane and Sayles and her maid Lupita and Nancy's brother-in-law, Andy, who recently came to their house. This comedy series has strong and bitter humor. The characterization of the series is very interesting so that you don't hate any character, even the dirtiest and most dangerous drug gangsters look lovable and attractive from many angles, Nancy (played by Mary Louise Parker) has a very confused and ambiguous character. Although his intention is to provide a good life for his children, he causes many problems for the family.
