On the dawn of civil rights, three Mississippi ladies are about to take a surprising step in their lives. One of these three ladies is "Skeeter", 22 years old, who has just returned home from university, and her mother's biggest sorrow is her marriage. The other lady is a wise African American half-breed lady named Aibileen, she is a servant who has just lost her child. And the third lady is Minnie, Aibileen's best friend, who is looking for a respectable job.
