A valuable object called the King's Seal was stolen by a mysterious group during its transfer to the spirit community. Toshiro Hitsugaya, the captain of the 10th Ward, who was chosen to transfer the seal, fights the bandit leader and disappears shortly after. After this incident, the ghost community recognizes that Hitsugaya Toshiro is a traitor and must be arrested and executed. Kurosaki Ichigo does not accept this decision and along with Matsumoto Rangiko, Kuchiki Rukia and Abarai Renji decide to uncover the mastermind of the seal thief and find Hitsugaya so that he can be freed. Meanwhile, an impostor searches for the culprits and discovers a dark secret connected to a dead shinigami.
