Flavia, the Heretic(1974)

Italy 1600: A nunnery is attacked by cult tarantulas on their annual pilgrimage. Sectarians desecrate the place of worship, orgying in the chapel and desecrate the altar. One of the nuns decides that she can't tolerate the oppression of the other religious and runs away from the monastery, upset that all the leaders are men.
