The very beautiful film "The Unknown Woman" is one of Tornatore's latest works, the famous director of modern Italian cinema. The obvious feature of Tornatore's cinema is the focus on deep emotional subjects. The film ((Unknown Woman)) is his latest work, a mysterious narrative of the life of a woman who rises to the level of an oppressed saint in the viewer's eyes, while she is a not-so-good woman from Ukraine. This controversy remains in the viewer's mind until the end of the film, and it is the viewer who has to submit to the image of the saint at the end of the film. The shocking beginning of the film takes place in a private place where a group of three veiled women are being evaluated by a man we cannot see (similar to casting an actor for a movie). A little later, this misleading exercise, which was filmed in a surreal atmosphere, is related to the selection of a woman for a special purpose. The film is full of scenes of violence against women and children. Even when Irena tries to teach a young child to resist rape, this way of teaching looks completely sick. In Tornatore films, the soundtrack has always had a special place. This film is no exception to this rule.
