
Tachibana Rin, nicknamed Hankunma (in Fukushima dialect, older son), grew up in Soma, Fukushima. Rin and her mother, Yae, worked hard to earn money so that she could enter a prestigious school in Miyagi, where she would study English and learn special sciences. After marriage, Rin moves to Tokyo with his wife and family and eventually joins a newspaper and becomes one of the first Japanese newspaper reporters.
