Ji Sung is a great soothsayer, born with an innate talent to see people's past and future. There are those who falsely believe that he has dark supernatural power and think that he got this power from the spirits. When he comes at the end of the Goryeo period, he becomes a researcher for divination and reader of geography, faces and fortunes of the future. He eventually causes the creation of a kingdom that causes the overthrow of Goryeo and the rise of a new Chosun. General Lee Seung-gi (Ji Jin-hye) helps him become the first king of the Joseon Dynasty.
