The time of this drama is 1930s and the story is about love, friendship, loyalty and patriotism. The main character is a man named Shin Jong-tae (Kim Hyun-jung) who defends his kind against the Japanese attack and has a good fighting ability and becomes one of the greatest fighters of that time. Shin Jong-tae lost his father at the age of 15 during the occupation of Shanghai by Japanese forces, but instead of seeking justice, he blames himself for his father's death. Jung Tae finds justice in his struggle and beatings in the back alleys of Shanghai and grows up to be a strong fighter. After his father's death, Jung Tae grows up as the adopted son of Yoon Ok Ryun (Jin Se Yeon). He falls in love with his little half-sister who aspires to be a singer, but Jung-tae dares to express his feelings. But in the meantime, Deguchi Gaya (Im Su Hyang), the adopted daughter of one of the top officials of the Japanese National Assembly, gets in the way of their happiness. Now we have to see if that young patriot can protect himself in China in the future or not?
