Steve Walker (Jones), coach of the town's college track and field team, comes to Godolphin and takes a room at Blackbeard's guest house. The guest house is run by some old women who claim to be the descendants of a pirate known as "Blackbeard". The old women have trouble repaying the guest house mortgage, and with the help of a college teacher, Mrs. Baker (Paleshet), they auction off a collection of antiques.
