The documentary tells the story of Matt VanDyke, a 24-year-old man who left his hometown of Baltimore in 2006 and embarked on a three-year, 35,000-mile journey across North Africa and the Middle East with a motorcycle and camera. While traveling, he befriends a Libyan. Some time later, the Egyptian revolution fails and "Matt" decides to join his friend and fight against the dictator "Muammar Gaddafi". With a gun in one hand and a camera in the other, Matt was shooting and filming on the battlefield until he was captured by Gaddafi's forces and held in solitary confinement for 6 months.
