The Grammy Awards, which means "Gramophone Award", are presented by the Recording Academy (American Association of the Recording Industry Association of America) for outstanding achievements in music production. This award is sponsored behind the scenes by major companies producing and supplying musical instruments and major studios. The Grammy Awards is one of the four annual music awards in the United States (the other three are the Billboard Music Awards, the American Music Awards, and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Awards) and although it is usually held in February, it is considered the Oscars of music. Among the other "Big Three" music competitions, the Grammy Awards are the biggest music awards.
