Erin Bruner, a female lawyer, is assigned to defend Pastor Moore, who is accused of being involved in the death of a young girl named Emily Rose. Emily Rose died after performing the exorcism ceremony by Moore's father and now the prosecutor plans to condemn Moore's father as the cause of her death. Erin visits the priest in prison. At first, Moore's father refuses to accept a lawyer. The reason for this is Erin's disbelief in religion, God and Satan. But Erin manages to gain his trust. Moore's father tells him that Emily Rose was possessed by six evil spirits, and after unsuccessful medical procedures, he tried to save her soul and body by expelling those evil spirits...
