
Montana, 1910, Norman (Shaffer) and Paul (Pitt), the teenage sons of Mrs. and Mr. McLean (Bultain and Skerritt), are raised according to the principles and rules of the Presbyterian Church. They have also learned to love angling and fishing in the local river. Years later, Norman, the older brother, studies forestry and Paul becomes a lifeguard. With the passage of time, the distance between the two brothers grows, but the love of fishing brings them together from time to time.
