On September 24, 1914, the German, British and French armies were fighting in Belgium during the First World War. On Christmas Eve, they stop the war to celebrate Christmas at least for a few hours. In the German army, one of the soldiers, who also has a history of singing in the opera, starts singing the Merry Christmas song. The soldiers of other fronts hear the voice of the German singer and climb up the embankment with white flags as a sign of peace and go towards the German army. That night, the soldiers of the 3 armies eat dinner together and celebrate Christmas, but all 3 commanders agree that the peace will be broken from the next day and they will resume the war...
