Paul Vitti is serving the end of his sentence in prison. The FBI agents are monitoring him and find out that he, who was once the most dangerous gangster in New York, now has a strange mental state. The FBI decides to consult with Dr. Sobol. On the other hand, Sobol also has his own problems. His father recently died and this issue has caused him an identity crisis that has affected both his personal and professional life. Plus, he knows his wife Laura would be furious with Ben bringing Paul back into their lives. Later, Paul is paroled and is being treated under Ben's responsibility, so Ben has to take him home.
