"Forrester" (Connery), a writer who hasn't written a book after winning the Pulitzer Prize a few decades ago, and "Jamal" (Brown), a sixteen-year-old boy who has a hidden passion for writing, live in their own world. One day, "Jamal" meets "Forrester" by chance. After their initial acquaintance, these two encourage each other to write and become friends despite the difference in their age and class base.
