The story takes place 8 years after the events of the first movie; Blind Navy veteran Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang) lives in suburban Detroit with 11-year-old Phoenix and his dog. Norman told Phoenix that his mother was killed in a fire in their old house. Hernandez, who is Norman's only contact with the community, convinces him to let Phoenix leave the house with him, but a criminal group is waiting for them...
