Year 1884. The young officer of the British army, "Harry Forsham" (Ledger), refuses to fight against the Sudanese Muslim rebels. His best friend, "Jack Durance" (Bentley), in response to this action, sends him a white feather (as a sign of cowardice). Two other people from his train also do the same and finally the fourth feather is delivered to him by the candidate "Forsham" (Hudson)...
