The story is about a person named "Yato" who is a small god among the Japanese and calls himself a servant of the people and wants millions of people to convert to his sect one day even though he doesn't even have a temple for himself. He spends his days jokingly for five yen to provide a morsel of bread for his humanoid weapon and himself. When Yato's life is passing darkly, the hand of fate draws him to a high school girl named "Hyori Iki" who saves Yato from an accident and hits a car instead of him. Hiyori survives, but the accident causes her soul to be unstable and leave her body...
